Project Description
PeraGage South Africa was appointed to conduct various geotechnical investigations for one (1 no.) wind energy facility (WEF), three (3 no.) solar energy facilities (SEF), one (1 no.) chemical processing plant and associated grid and water infrastructure. Prieska Power Reserve developed a model to produce green hydrogen and ammonia through a combination of high yielding renewable solar and wind energy resources, along with the other natural resources of water and air.
Project Tasks
- Rotary core drilling at turbine positions and chemical processing plants
- Detailed trial pit investigation
- Rock and soil sampling for geotechnical and chemical laboratory testing
- Trial pile pulling out testing at SEFs
- Field mapping of WEF, SEF and grid routes
- Detailed foundation recommendations for infrastructure
Project Results
The project was successfully completed with the submission of eleven (11 no.) geotechnical reports ahead of the programme schedule and below the proposed budget. Thus, saving time and money for the client.
